Anxiously Waiting

The Republican establishment is anxiously awaiting the upcoming elections. Pundits are all over talk radio speculating as to which Democrats are vulnerable and who’s likely to be the next to retire. They’re all chomping at the bit to see which party will be in control after the November elections. They’re missing the point. Parties don’t matter, America matters. A Busy Sunday Morning

President Obama took to the Sunday talk show circuit with a vengeance last week. He appeared on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and the Hispanic network Univision. Man, this guy has some serious energy. He was everywhere but the Cooking Channel. Then again, they were all taped at the White House, so maybe he didn’t expend that much energy, after all. (more…)

Why Doesn’t Everyone See It?

You Gotta Love It
If you don’t read The Economist you should consider it. It’s a British news magazine that’s been around since 1843, and like all news magazines it has a liberal slant. I like it because it’s good, honest reporting that covers the entire globe. It also has a great business section. Being British, they don’t worry about “political correctness”, (more…)

Why Bother?
A good friend of mine told me of a political conversation he had with another person, and, when asked, that person admitted that he doesn’t vote. He believes it doesn’t matter since the electoral college decides the outcome. The electoral college only applies to the presidential election, but its impact is important nonetheless, because the result is the loss of a vote. (more…)
